Build Your Profile Your profile will be the first step into showing interest in egg donation! We take privacy seriously and only allow database access to those families that have signed a confidentiality agreement. We want to help you put your best foot forward so we work with local professional photographers for an optional photo shoot to ensure your true spark shines through. We offer an online questionnaire and a fun personality test that helps to outline your special traits and characteristics. This can be a wonderfully rich experience for those seeking personal growth and understanding of self.
Initial Consult: Working around your schedule, we set up a phone call or when possible, to meet in person, to discuss the egg donor process and any questions you may have. Our job is to be here for you every step of the way.
Program & Itinerary: We send you a package outlining the program and commitments. We encourage you to read through them thoroughly.
Signing on: We hope that we have given you all the information required to make an informed decision about becoming a donor!
Profile Completion: Your profile is added to our database. Once you have been selected by a family, we will contact you to prepare you for the next steps.
Profile Selected: We work to support communications between you and the intended parent(s) to further the relationship surrounding third party fertility and determine timelines.
Clinic Paperwork: The fertility clinic you will be working with will then send you the needed paperwork to continue your journey; once completed we will assist you with transitioning into phase two of the program!
Fertility Clinic Consult: Depending on everyone's availability, there may be a wait for this appointment. Your first consult with the fertility clinic will be over the phone, where you will get to know your physician, discuss your medical history, and get to learn what to expect next. From there you can decide when you would like to start this process.
Counselling & Blood Work: The fertility doctor will have given you some home work 1) blood work - you will be emailed blood work requisitions a few times over the span of this process for different tests. With your requisition, you can go to any Life Labs location in your area to get this done. 2) Book counselling appointment - booking with the recommended counselor/psychologist. Arrange a time as soon as possible, as there can be a wait for this appointment.
Review of Legal Documents: Once you have completed all required blood work and counselling, we will send you some legal documentation that will be between you and the intended parents. Currently, a legal contract isn't mandatory but highly recommended and helps protect all parties involved.
Cycle day 1: On the first day of your period, call the fertility clinic and let them know your cycle has begun. They will then give you your step by step protocol as it is now time to start your egg donor IVF cycle and begin medications (as well as training on how to take these medications), ultrasounds and routine blood work!
Ultrasounds and Blood Work: On average an egg donor cycle is 10-15 days. There may be up to six visits to the clinic for monitoring during this time.
Egg Retrieval Day You've made it! You must have someone to drive you to and from the clinic today, and have a solid plan to rest and relax the remainder of the day.
Rest & Recovery: You have completed your egg donation procedure and in doing so, you have given a family hope of a new future. You may feel bloated and tired from the medications given during retrieval. The clinic will have advised you when to expect your next period, as well as to contact them if need be. Listen to your body, be careful not to over do it!
Check in with Us: Shoot us a message and let us know how you're doing; we love hearing from you!
Back to Reality: You can now get back to all of your regular routines and socializing. Your energy levels will determine how much you can do and how fast you can do it!
Share Your Experience: We would love to hear all about your experience - what it was like, whether or not you would do it again or if you would recommend it to a friend. We also believe that your feedback provides a positive role in helping us do our jobs better!
